UV Light, Natures Disinfectant
The disinfectant power of ultraviolet light (UV) has been known since the 1930s. Today, ultraviolet devices have become popular for general indoor air quality improvement, particularly installed into HVAC ducts. They can reduce the spread of cold, flu and other viruses and bacteria, as well as fight unpleasant odors. Most UV lamps, however, produce a variety of wavelengths, many of which aren't germicidal. Air Gorilla's powerful lamps concentrate energy at the germicidal 254 nanometer range, assuring maximum decontamination - without wasting power.

Most UV units also employ a single lamp. The Air Gorilla UV N-DUCT™ unit boasts a powerful Dual-Radiant, 36 watt lamp producing 105µw of UV power - that's over five times the intensity and over 50% greater area coverage than the typical, single 12" - 15" UV lamp installed in a duct. More power means greater destruction of contaminants.

Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO)
This process involves shining ultraviolet light on to a surface coated with titanium dioxide, producing free radicals, which attack molecules of contaminated compounds (VOCs) in the air. The VOCs are broken down into simple, harmless substances, usually water and carbon dioxide. The free radicals also kill bacteria, viruses and spores.

AirGorilla CPU™ has developed a way that makes PCO technology even more powerful. The more titanium dioxide (TiO2 ), the better the photocatalytic oxidation process works; so AirGorilla didn't put a small TiO2 cage around a single UV lamp as other manufacturers did, but instead developed a patent pending, expanded TiO2 photocatalytic grid that works in concert with the increased intensity and coverage of the UV lights. This superior photocatalytic system now allows more TiO2 to become highly reactive when exposed to the increased UV intensity and increases the destruction of contaminants airborne bacteria, viruses, spores and harmful gases.

With a single cut, the Air Gorilla UV N-DUCT™ can be installed in your existing supply or return duct. The titanium dioxide grid never needs cleaning or replacing, and the UV lamps are guaranteed to last 9,000 hours. Putting new ones is a snap - there's nothing to unscrew; simply open the cover, pull out the old lamps and put in the new. The Air Gorilla power module components are warranted for 5 years.
